Our formulas are made without animal-derived ingredients, and we never test our products on animals. Our butters, oils and waxes are all plant-based, and we use plant-derived squalane. We’re not currently certified by a third party, but we only work with suppliers who confirm their ingredients aren’t animal-derived or tested on animals.

Our skincare is fragrance-free. Our lip products are lightly flavored, and Cowboy Stick is a perfume, so it contains fragrance; its full ingredient list, including fragrance allergens, is on the product page. Our current products don't use synthetic dyes. Our color comes from mineral pigments such as iron oxides, titanium dioxide and mica.

Our skincare is fragrance-free and formulated with dry, sensitive and barrier-compromised skin in mind. Everyone’s skin is different, so patch test a new product on a small area, such as your inner arm, for 24 hours before using it on your face. If you notice any irritation, stop using the product.

Our products are cosmetics and aren’t intended to treat or prevent any skin condition. Many customers with dry, sensitive skin use our fragrance-free skincare, but if you have eczema, psoriasis or another skin condition, please check with your dermatologist first and patch test before use. Avoid applying products to broken or actively inflamed skin.

Store products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with caps closed tightly. Our balms and sticks are made with natural butters and waxes, so they can soften in heat.

Because every pregnancy is different, we recommend sharing our full ingredient lists, found on each product page, with your doctor or midwife before using any new skincare while pregnant or breastfeeding. This is especially worth doing for Night Nectar, which contains bakuchiol, and Cowboy Stick, which contains fragrance.
